30" x 22", graphite and colored pencil on paper, 2018
This drawing is about discovery. I found this crashed plane on a trip to Alaska. Tall trees arc over it and the most delicate new leaves grow through the void. Faint blue lines grid the drawing into thirds, recalling the blue chalk used by contractors. Words and ghost images of vehicles can be seen through the trees.
Museum frame - white shadow box.
Pairs with the drawing 'Cadence'.
